About the position

We are looking for a talented Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead a team of developers and solutions architects in Texas. This pivotal role requires an in-office presence and offers relocation reimbursement. The CTO will be responsible for overseeing all technology, development, and technical support operations across various service lines. This position is crucial for defining the technical vision and strategy, particularly leveraging InterSystems' Healthcare platform to enhance our service offerings. In this role, the CTO will develop and manage technical budgets, ensuring that all staff and vendor relationships align with customer needs and organizational goals. The CTO will also lead technology evaluation and acquisition efforts, ensuring that the organization adopts optimal technology solutions that are sustainable in the long term. Collaboration with the CEO will be essential, particularly in assessing the competitive landscape and keeping abreast of technological advancements that could impact the organization. Regular engagement with physician leadership and C-level stakeholders is expected, as the CTO will lead the development and ongoing support for the technical platform. This includes driving the technical onboarding of new healthcare entities and managing corporate, production, and co-located networks to ensure .999 service uptime through effective staff coordination and managed services. The CTO will also manage both employed and contract resources across dense and complex projects, including the current IT team, and will be responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, managing, and retaining top technical talent to strengthen IT capabilities. Additionally, the CTO will design and implement Health Information Exchange (HIE) alert systems and research capabilities, oversee Active Directory and business infrastructure using Microsoft Azure, and provide technical consultation to support business development initiatives. The role also includes supervising the Chief Information Security Officer and other contracted resources, managing configuration and endpoint management, SCAP validation, and zero-day threat systems, as well as identifying risks and implementing remediation strategies within the HITRUST CSF program.

Responsibilities

  • Define the technical vision and strategy, leveraging InterSystems' Healthcare platform.
  • Develop and manage technical budgets, oversee staff and vendor relationships to meet customer needs and organizational goals.
  • Lead technology evaluation and acquisition efforts to ensure optimal technology adoption and sustainability.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in InterSystems technology stack including HealthShare, IRIS for Health, Caché, HL7, C32/CCDA, IHE (XDS/XCA), Direct XDR, SSL/PKI, TCP/IP routing/Subnetting, VPN configuration and management, Windows & Unix Administration, Office365, HIPAA.
  • Strong coaching, written & verbal communication, presentation, counseling, documentation, planning, scheduling, and interviewing skills.
