About the position

The Principal Systems Engineering Architect/Site Lead at Azure Summit Technology is responsible for providing technical leadership on various programs and managing the Germantown, MD facility. This role involves overseeing systems engineering tasks, staff management, and the design and development of complex signals intelligence and communications systems. The position requires collaboration within a dynamic, cross-functional team and entails significant responsibilities in technical program execution and facility management.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership on direct programs and internal research and development efforts.
  • Manage all aspects of the Germantown, MD facility.
  • Lead Systems Engineering technical work including IPT leadership, CAM, System Architecture, and Signal Processing.
  • Oversee staff management including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, coaching/mentoring, and performance management.
  • Plan and execute technical programs and projects, including customer interface and requirements development.
  • Conduct design reviews and technical interchanges for prototype/product system design and development.

Requirements

  • US citizenship due to the nature of the work and contract requirement.
  • Active DoD TOP SECRET security clearance with the ability to obtain a TOP SECRET SCI.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a relevant field.
  • Minimum 10 years experience developing and implementing real-time system architectures for applications such as signal detection and modulation/demodulation.
  • Minimum 10 years experience leading development and integration of prototype RF systems in communications, radar, signals intelligence, or electronic warfare.

Nice-to-haves

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance
  • Masters or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a relevant field.
  • Minimum 15 years experience leading development and integration of prototype and/or production RF mission systems.
  • Experience leading development of RF mission payloads into manned and/or unmanned airborne platforms.
  • Strong oral, written, and presentation skills with a record of success in writing winning proposals.
