4th Gr. Bilingual Teacher

About the position

The 4th Grade Bilingual Teacher at Cavazos Elementary is responsible for providing students with effective distance, virtual, or face-to-face learning experiences in the assigned academic subject area. The role aims to help students achieve their intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth while developing competencies necessary for success in society.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans and activities through distance, virtual, or face-to-face learning.
• Prepare lessons that accommodate differences in student learning styles and needs.
• Present subject matter according to guidelines established by the Texas Education Agency and district policies.
• Plan and use appropriate instructional strategies, activities, materials, and equipment.
• Conduct assessments of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities.
• Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula for special education students.
• Work with staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
• Plan and supervise assignments of teacher aides and volunteers.
• Use technology to enhance the teaching/learning process.
• Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement.
• Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct.
• Communicate with students and parents through various platforms.
• Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned.
• Knowledge of subjects assigned and general knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
• Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
