About the position

The Residential Area Director at Dungarvin is responsible for managing and administering programs and services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role involves overseeing residential group homes, ensuring compliance with regulations, developing budgets, and enhancing program quality while fostering staff development. The position requires strong leadership skills to manage operational managers and program directors, ensuring exceptional service delivery and safety for the individuals supported.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the management and administration of programs and services in the specified geographic area.
  • Develop and implement budgets, negotiate rates, and ensure compliance with licensing regulations.
  • Enhance program quality and nurture staff development.
  • Oversee operational managers and the program directors they supervise.
  • Implement policies and systems while managing risks and minimizing organizational liabilities.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with funding sources, regulatory bodies, and families.
  • Manage program/area financial performance, including budget management and contract review.
  • Collaborate with the State management team to optimize state-wide operations.
  • Assure proper management of persons served and household finances.
  • Lead the training and supervision of program Directors and Managers, evaluating performance.
  • Assess and propose policies and procedures to elevate program efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Psychology, Counseling, Allied Health, or a related field.
  • 3 years of supervisory experience in human services or healthcare, preferably overseeing community-based programs.
  • Designated Manager status per 245D licensing requirements in MN.
  • Experience managing budgets of $2M+ revenues.
  • Intermediate-level proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience overseeing operations in Residential, Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS), or High Acuity environments.
  • Expertise in 245D regulations and fee-for-service programming.
  • Familiarity with Minnesota state systems and managed care systems.
