About the position

The 508 Compliance Analyst at GDIT is responsible for ensuring that web pages and IT systems comply with Section 508 standards. This role involves conducting testing and assessments using various tools to support the customer's Zero Trust Mandate. The position is remote but requires occasional travel to Maryland for badging purposes. The analyst will work within a fast-paced DevOps environment, collaborating with team members and application owners to develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and document test results for compliance remediation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct 508 testing and assessment for web pages and IT systems using tools like JAWS and Jaws Inspect.
• Review and evaluate software products and systems for adherence to 508 quality standards.
• Develop software/systems testing procedures and conduct tests.
• Collaborate effectively with team members and application owners.
• Adhere to best practices and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) within applicable Service Level Agreements (SLA).
• Document test results for use by the team, application owners, and external vendors for remediation.
• Perform remediation of various document types including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, and websites.

Requirements

• 3+ years of related experience in IT Quality Assurance or compliance testing.
• Experience using JAWS or other 508 Compliance Testing tools.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, MS Teams).
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance and pass a government background screening.

Nice-to-haves

• 508 Compliance certification
• Experience in an Agile workplace using SCRUM and/or KanBan
• Experience using JIRA, Trello, and ServiceNow
• Ability to automate 508 Compliance testing where feasible.
