About the position

The 5th Grade Bilingual Teacher is responsible for providing effective instruction to students in a bilingual setting, utilizing various teaching methods including distance, virtual, and face-to-face learning. The role aims to foster students' intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth while ensuring they develop the necessary competencies to succeed in society. The teacher will work collaboratively with other staff members and special education teachers to meet the diverse needs of students.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans and activities through various learning methods.
• Prepare lessons accommodating different student learning styles and needs.
• Present subject matter according to established guidelines.
• Plan and use appropriate instructional strategies and materials.
• Conduct assessments of student learning styles to inform instructional planning.
• Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula for special education students.
• Work with staff to determine instructional goals and methods according to district requirements.
• Supervise assignments of teacher aides and volunteers.
• Utilize technology to enhance the teaching and learning process.
• Help students improve study methods and habits through ongoing assessment.
• Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned.
• Create a conducive classroom environment for learning.
• Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct.
• Communicate with parents, students, and staff through various channels.
• Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned.
• Knowledge of subjects assigned and general curriculum and instruction.
• Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves
