About the position
The Production Supervisor at Goodwill Industries is responsible for overseeing the processing of products in a retail environment, ensuring timely customer service, and promoting positive relationships with donors and customers. This role involves managing production staff, maintaining quality control, and achieving sales goals while adhering to Goodwill's mission and policies.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the processing of products to ensure consistent product flow.
- Maximize daily sales goals of the retail stores.
- Sort, process, contain, identify, and store excess products safely for retail requirements.
- Maintain quality control of merchandise flow through supervision and delegation of production staff.
- Ensure safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of processing functions.
- Hire, train, and supervise production/retail team members to meet retail division goals.
- Maintain daily store inventories at approved levels to maximize sales.
- Provide direction to production and retail associates to meet daily merchandise needs.
- Prepare daily work schedules for all production/retail associates as needed.
- Cross-train in all aspects of retail management for career growth development.
- Provide proactive repair and preventive maintenance of specified equipment.
- Perform general housekeeping, custodial, and janitorial duties as assigned.
- Ensure compliance with established Goodwill policies and procedures.
- Work with the store team to maximize growth of the location.
- Help coordinate sales promotions and activities.
- Perform management duties such as bank deposits and POS functions.
- Cross-train associates in all aspects of production and retail needs.
- Adhere to attendance and loss prevention policies.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of one-year supervisory experience in a light manufacturing, material handling, or retail-shipping environment.
- Previous customer service experience in retail, shipping and receiving, or office duties.
