About the position
The Production Supervisor at Goodwill Industries is responsible for overseeing the processing of products in a retail environment, ensuring timely customer service, and promoting positive relationships with donors and customers. This role involves managing a team, maintaining quality control, and maximizing sales goals while adhering to company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the processing of products to ensure consistent product flow.
- Maximize daily sales goals of the retail stores.
- Sort, process, contain, identify, and store excess products safely for retail requirements.
- Maintain quality control of merchandise flow through supervision and delegation of production staff.
- Ensure safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of processing functions.
- Hire, train, and supervise production/retail team members to meet retail division goals.
- Maintain daily store inventories at approved levels to maximize sales.
- Provide direction to production and retail associates to meet daily merchandise needs.
- Prepare daily work schedules for all production/retail associates as needed.
- Cross-train in all aspects of retail management for career growth development.
- Provide proactive repair and preventive maintenance of specified equipment.
- Perform general housekeeping, custodial, and janitorial duties as assigned.
- Ensure compliance with established Goodwill policies and procedures.
- Work with the store team to maximize growth of the location.
- Help coordinate sales promotions and activities.
- Perform management duties such as bank deposits and POS functions.
- Cross-train associates in all aspects of production and retail needs.
- Adhere to attendance and loss prevention policies.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of one-year supervisory experience in a light manufacturing, material handling, or retail-shipping environment.
- Previous customer service experience in retail, shipping and receiving, or office clerical duties.
Nice-to-haves
- Valid SC Driver's License with limited point violations.
