About the position

The Key Carrier Coordinator role at Homesense is a pivotal position that combines the responsibilities of a Coordinator with additional leadership duties. This role is essential for maintaining store operations and ensuring exceptional customer service while promoting a positive work environment. Key Carriers must be flexible with their schedules, including availability for nights and weekends, and are expected to model integrity and customer service excellence.

Responsibilities

• Alternate between Coordinator and Key Carrier roles based on store needs.
• Model exceptional customer service and create a positive customer experience.
• Act as Manager on Duty, adhering to company policies and procedures.
• Ensure store team performs tasks in accordance with store plans and priorities.
• Address immediate customer service issues and coach Associates appropriately.
• Maintain accurate Associate coverage in service areas for optimal customer experience.
• Ensure Associates adhere to operational procedures and guidelines.
• Execute opening and closing procedures according to company standards.
• Communicate effectively with management and Associates regarding priorities and progress updates.
• Provide recognition and constructive feedback to Associates.
• Partner with Management on Associate training needs to enhance effectiveness.
• Promote credit and loyalty programs and support shrink reduction goals.
• Maintain a safe environment and promote safety awareness.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 1 year of retail experience
• 6 months of leadership experience
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends
• Team player with effective collaboration skills
• Ability to respond appropriately to changes and unexpected situations
• Knowledge of company standard software, systems, and procedures
• Understanding of merchandise flow in stores
• Proven problem-solving skills
• Ability to coach, delegate, and follow up on multiple tasks
• Capability to act quickly under challenging circumstances
• Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail
