About the position

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a First-Line Manufacturing Manager (Level K) to join the 777 Final Assembly Interiors team in Everett, Washington, specifically for the 2nd Shift. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety, compliance, quality, productivity, and morale of a team of mechanics responsible for building the interiors of the 777-2F freighter and 777-9 passenger airplanes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong safety and quality mindset, along with excellent interpersonal skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement and problem-solving. As a member of the leadership team, the First-Line Manufacturing Manager will manage employees engaged in various manufacturing activities. This includes developing and implementing business plans, policies, and procedures, as well as formulating organizational and technical strategies. The manager will also be responsible for acquiring necessary resources, providing technical management of suppliers, and leading process improvements to enhance operational efficiency. In addition to overseeing technical approaches, products, and processes, the manager will cultivate and maintain relationships with customers, peers, partners, and direct reports. A key aspect of this role is to lead, develop, and motivate employees, fostering a positive and productive work environment. The position requires a commitment to working 100% onsite at the Everett location, and candidates must meet export control compliance requirements, necessitating a U.S. Person status as defined by relevant regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Manages employees performing activities in multiple manufacturing subject areas.
  • Develops and implements business plans, policies, and procedures and develops organizational and technical strategies.
  • Acquires resources, provides technical management of suppliers, and leads process improvements.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, peers, partners, and direct reports.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes.
  • Leads, develops, and motivates employees.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in an aerospace, fabrication, or manufacturing environment.
  • 1+ years of experience leading teams in a formal and/or informal leadership role.
  • Ability to work any shift based on the needs of the business.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1+ years of experience using the One Boeing Production System (BPS) tools and principles.
  • 1+ years of experience using LEAN Manufacturing and/or Continuous Improvement practices and tools in the workplace.
  • Experience with passenger interiors configurations.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing management role.
