About the position

The 7th Grade Science Teacher is responsible for planning and providing engaging classroom learning experiences that foster the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of students. This part-time position involves supervising students, monitoring their outcomes, and communicating effectively with students, parents, and staff. The teacher will develop instructional plans tailored to meet diverse student needs and maintain a conducive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide appropriate classroom learning experiences for students.
• Supervise students in various school-related settings.
• Monitor and evaluate student outcomes.
• Communicate and interact with students, parents, staff, and the community.
• Develop, select, and modify instructional plans and materials to meet student needs.
• Maintain appropriate records and follow required procedures and practices.
• Monitor the appropriate use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Utilize assessment strategies aligned with the curriculum and standards.
• Engage in continuous professional quality improvement.
• Implement classroom instructional strategies that reflect students' cultures and learning styles.
• Collaborate with peers, parents, and community stakeholders to improve educational experiences.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Education with appropriate subject area.
• Hold or be qualified to hold a North Carolina Professional Educator's License in a teaching content area.
• Extensive knowledge of curriculum and effective classroom instructional practices.
• Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Apps.
• Effective time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to prepare course objectives and outlines following curriculum guidelines.
• Ability to motivate and inspire students.
• Ability to maintain order and discipline in a classroom.
