About the position

The 9-12 Social Studies Teacher at Global Educational Excellence is responsible for providing effective classroom instruction in Social Studies to high school students. The role emphasizes creating a safe and optimal learning environment while managing student behavior and resources. The teacher will engage in ongoing professional development and collaborate with peers to enhance student learning outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective classroom instruction in Social Studies for grades 9-12.
• Manage materials and resources used for educating students.
• Maintain a safe and optimal learning environment by managing student behavior.
• Build meaningful, caring relationships with students to influence academic success.
• Leverage the student support network to address social, emotional, nutritional, and health needs.
• Motivate students and influence their behaviors positively.
• Collaboratively create and execute clear instructional plans that yield strong student learning results.
• Coordinate instruction within and across grade levels.
• Align curriculum, instruction, and assessments to meet individual student needs.
• Collect and analyze data to inform instructional decisions.
• Design and utilize formative assessments to adjust instruction daily.
• Implement a tiered system of instruction to meet diverse student needs.
• Foster a professional environment of mutual respect, teamwork, and accountability.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Meet applicable State certification and licensure requirements as defined by the Michigan State Board of Education.
• Satisfactory criminal background check required.
