About the position

The North Central Texas Emergency Communications District (NCT9-1-1) is seeking a Chief Innovation Officer (CIO) to lead innovation and technology initiatives within the 9-1-1 industry. This role is crucial for enhancing emergency response capabilities through the implementation of advanced technologies and fostering strategic partnerships. The CIO will manage a team focused on driving technological advancements and ensuring efficient operations across multiple Emergency Communications Centers (ECCs).

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a high-performing innovation team.
• Research and evaluate emerging technologies relevant to the 9-1-1 industry.
• Develop and maintain vendor relationships, managing procurement and contract negotiations.
• Oversee pilot projects to test and validate new technologies.
• Establish partnerships to collaborate on innovation initiatives.
• Develop a strategic innovation roadmap to advance organizational goals.

Requirements

• Professional level of knowledge equivalent to a Master's degree.
• Over nine years of experience in technology implementation or a related field, preferably in the 9-1-1 industry.
