About the position

The 911 Dispatcher position at Tarrant County involves receiving, processing, and dispatching emergency and non-emergency requests for law enforcement services. This role is critical for ensuring public safety and requires effective communication and decision-making skills during high-pressure situations.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes 9-1-1 telephones to receive calls.
• Utilizes administrative telephones for communication.
• Operates police radio for dispatching services.
• Performs general office duties as needed.
• Carries out all other related duties as required.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• One (1) year of work experience.
• TCIC/NCIC Full Access Operator, Dispatcher, and 911 Basic Telecommunicator Certification within one (1) year.
• Basic Computer Skills.
• General Office Skills.
