This role demands a commitment to staying updated on any changes in system components and company policies, ensuring compliance with all state and company requirements for operating a motor vehicle, and adhering to safety practices while on duty. In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring that your unit is always ready for service, which includes maintaining mechanical reliability, medical supplies, equipment cleanliness, and overall appearance standards. You will also be expected to report any discrepancies in vehicle or equipment standards to the Lead Paramedic immediately, complete all necessary documentation as per company policy, and report any unusual occurrences or problems to your supervisor. Professional appearance and adherence to hygiene and uniform standards are essential, as is attendance at all mandatory in-services. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid California Driver's License, and various certifications including an EMT License, CPR Card, and Medical Examiner's Certificate. Experience in Paramedic School is also necessary, along with specific internal experience for current EMTs in San Diego.
