About the position
The Lehigh County Communications / 911 Center is accepting applications for Telecommunications Operators. This is a professional position taking 911 and other emergency calls for help from the public and dispatching those calls to the appropriate agencies. TESTING IS REQUIRED AND APPLICANTS WILL BE NOTIFIED AS TO THE DATE AND TIME OF TESTING.
Responsibilities
- Take 911 and other emergency calls from the public.
- Dispatch calls to appropriate agencies.
Requirements
- G.E.D. or High School Diploma
- Pass computer test with score of 85% or higher.
- Completed COUNTY APPLICATION and a VALID EMAIL ADDRESS.
Nice-to-haves
- Public Safety experience preferred, not required.
- Current 911 Certifications (CLEAN / NCIC), Medical Priority EMD, and PA State 911 Certification.
