About the position
As a Laborer (Stocker) at the Exchange, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that merchandise is efficiently unloaded, moved, stocked, and priced across various departments. Your efforts will directly contribute to providing customers with an extraordinary shopping experience, as you will be responsible for maintaining the availability of products on the shelves. This position involves working under the supervision of the stockroom manager and requires a commitment to safety and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Unload, break-out, and stock merchandise with efficiency and accuracy.
- Follow all safety guidelines and operating procedures.
- Deliver extraordinary customer experience by engaging customers and prioritizing their needs.
- Listen to customer needs and ask appropriate follow-up questions to ensure suitable product offerings.
- Replenish stock on the sales floor as part of the early morning stocking crew.
- Perform a variety of manual tasks involving moderately heavy physical effort.
- Clean fixtures and remove boxes, trash, and excess merchandise from the sales floor.
- Participate in taking inventory at required intervals.
- Actively promote the benefits of the Military Star credit card to customers.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Ability to learn and adapt to current technology needs.
- Ability to think quickly to answer customer questions.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, with occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Initiative and willingness to take on tasks.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Willingness to cross-train and work in other areas of the store as needed.
- Helpful attitude toward customers and team members.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Basic computer skills.
