About the position

The Caregiver position at Home Instead involves providing personal care and support to clients in their homes. The role offers flexible scheduling options, including afternoon and overnight shifts, catering to the needs of both full-time and part-time employees. Caregivers will assist clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and safety while promoting independence.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
  • Monitor clients for fall risks and provide necessary assistance.
  • Administer medication reminders and assist with meal preparation.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean environment.
  • Assist with transfers and ambulation using equipment like Hoyer lifts.
  • Provide incontinence care and advanced personal hygiene assistance.
  • Occasionally transport clients for errands and activities.

Requirements

  • Must have a valid Home Care Aide Certification.
  • Minimum of 6 months of caregiving experience.
  • At least 2 years of work history with the same company.
  • Must reside in the specified service areas: Hayward, San Leandro, Fremont, Newark, Union City, Oakland.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in dementia care or personal care is preferred.
