About the position

The Mississippi Department of Mental Health (DMH) is seeking a dedicated 988 Operations Coordinator and Project Evaluator to enhance crisis care coordination and data tracking. This role involves outreach and the development of formal relationships with key partners, including 911 services, Mobile Crisis teams, and first responders. The Coordinator will be responsible for researching and implementing best practices in crisis care, ensuring effective data management, and preparing comprehensive reports for the Project Director. The position requires a strong focus on both qualitative and quantitative analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of program objectives and to oversee the collection, management, and storage of data related to the project. In this role, the Coordinator will work closely with the project manager to create detailed action plans that address resources, budgets, and timelines for various projects. The successful candidate will be expected to develop meeting agendas and materials that align with project goals, maintain an updated inventory of stakeholder relationships, and plan and manage team objectives and project schedules. Additionally, the Coordinator will gather data for SAMHSA reporting and support the Project Director in coordinating meetings and executing project activities. This position is crucial for ensuring that the DMH can effectively respond to crisis situations and improve overall mental health services in the community.

Responsibilities

  • Develop meeting agenda and materials appropriate for the project goals.
  • Maintain and update a stakeholder relationship inventory, including organizing the details for any reporting.
  • Plan and manage team goals, project schedules and new information.
  • Identify and research information about key stakeholder groups, including identifying effective strategies to reach these audiences.
  • Gather data for SAMHSA reporting.
  • Support the Project Director in coordinating meetings and executing project activities.
  • Oversee all collection, management, analysis, and storage of data; evaluate effectiveness of program objectives; and prepare reports for Project Director using quantitative and qualitative analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience in program management and project coordination.
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative analysis skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in crisis care coordination.
  • Familiarity with SAMHSA reporting requirements.
  • Previous experience in a mental health or social services environment.
