About the position
The Wintergreen Interdistrict Magnet School is seeking a transformative music educator for its arts-infused program serving Kindergarten through 8th grade. The school aims to provide a nurturing environment that integrates the arts into the curriculum, promoting academic and personal success for all students. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in music education, restorative practices, and arts integration, contributing to a collaborative teaching environment focused on the holistic development of students.
Responsibilities
- Teach music and vocal instruction to students in grades K-8.
- Integrate arts into the curriculum across various subjects.
- Collaborate with grade level teams to plan and execute content that supports thematic learning.
- Foster a safe and nurturing classroom environment that encourages creativity and self-expression.
- Implement restorative practices to support student behavior and engagement.
Requirements
- CT State Certification 049 required.
- Experience teaching elementary or middle grade students.
- Strong classroom management and interpersonal skills.
- Proven record of accomplishment in instructing diverse learners.
Nice-to-haves
- Professional background in the arts, project-based learning, social-emotional learning, theater, and/or STEAM education.
