About the position

The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) at The Landmark of Richton Park is a key leadership role responsible for supporting the Director of Nursing in overseeing the Nursing Department. This position involves planning, organizing, and evaluating nursing services while ensuring a holistic approach to resident care. The ADON will also take on supervisory responsibilities in the absence of the Director, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and effective communication within the healthcare team.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Director of Nursing in planning, developing, organizing, directing, and evaluating nursing services.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to meet facility goals and ensure resident independence.
  • Accept supervisory responsibility of the Nursing Department in the absence of the Director of Nursing.
  • Establish and implement objectives and standards for the Nursing Department in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluate and monitor resident rounds and care rendered.
  • Ensure sufficient staffing levels through training and personnel processes.
  • Communicate significant changes in resident status to designated physicians and family members.
  • Establish rapport with staff, healthcare team members, residents, and visitors.
  • Implement standards of care, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct monthly internal self-audits of Quality Indicators.

Requirements

  • Unencumbered, active RN licensure in the state of employment.
  • Advanced education and/or experience in nursing management/administration (one year experience recommended).
  • Sincere desire to work with elders and individuals with limited self-care capacity.
  • Mental and physical capacity to perform essential job functions with or without accommodations.
  • Ability to work with a diverse range of personality types and maturity levels.
  • Demonstrate creative initiative and mature judgment in decision-making.
  • Maintain a courteous, empathetic, and professional attitude.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all activities, persons, and records.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to address each resident by their preferred name.
  • Transportation accessible for flexible work schedule.
  • Knowledge of computer applications related to the job.
