About the position

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position at the Cambridge Developmental Center involves providing skilled nursing care to individuals with developmental disabilities. The role focuses on direct support and care, ensuring the health and safety of clients while assisting with various medical procedures and daily living activities. This part-time position requires attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Perform skilled practical nursing procedures or treatments such as administering oxygen and conducting blood glucose testing.
  • Assist physicians with client and new employee physical exams, treatments, and lab tests.
  • Conduct neurological and circulation assessments and administer medications in various forms.
  • Maintain medication records and prepare medication for clients.
  • Provide general nursing and direct care, including taking vital signs and assisting with personal grooming and hygiene.
  • Provide assistance and training to lower-level direct care staff in providing general unskilled nursing care.
  • Observe, document, and report client conditions and maintain related reports and records.

Requirements

  • License to practice nursing as a licensed practical nurse issued by the Ohio Board of Nursing.
  • Proof of completion of an approved course in medication administration.
  • Knowledge of skilled licensed practical nursing procedures, pharmacology, and client care.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification in IV Therapy for those administering dialysis treatment.

Benefits

  • Sign-on bonus of $1000, with $500 paid after 120 days and the remaining $500 after one year.
