About the position

The Senior Software Architect role at TikTok focuses on leading the development of an innovative e-commerce platform that integrates with global merchants and partners. This position is pivotal in building an OpenAPI-driven ecosystem that enhances the e-commerce experience for users. The architect will tackle complex business and technical challenges while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the platform's success and scalability.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of end-to-end OpenAPI-based integrated solutions for e-commerce domains.
• Provide architectural design and roadmap planning for Open ecosystem platforms, integrating with major e-commerce sites.
• Ensure scalability, availability, and capital loss prevention of the platform through effective architectural design.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and key account merchants to support business objectives.
• Act as the single point of contact for the owned domain.

Requirements

• 5+ years of production coding experience or equivalent technical solutions architecture experience.
• Familiarity with general-purpose programming languages such as Python, Go, Java, or C/C++.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical audiences.
• Experience collaborating across different functional teams or stakeholder groups.
• Demonstrated knowledge of open platform APIs and backend systems design.

Nice-to-haves

• 5+ years of experience as a backend architect in e-commerce or related areas.
• Rich e-commerce industry experience or ability to quickly understand e-commerce business.
• Strong self-driven attitude with excellent people skills for collaboration with clients and internal partners.
