About The Position

The Group Teacher for the Before and After School Program at Healthy Kids is responsible for creating a safe and engaging environment for children, guiding compliance with educational standards, and facilitating hands-on activities that promote learning and fun. This part-time role involves direct interaction with children, parents, and staff, ensuring that the program runs smoothly and effectively.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Child Development or Child Development Certificate, OR six college credits in Early Childhood Education or Child Development and nine college credits in Education, Psychology, Health Care, Nursing, or related fields.
• Pass a background check, including fingerprinting and references.
• Medical clearance to perform job duties, free of communicable diseases.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with NJ guidelines, Healthy Kids policies, and host school rules.
• Direct engaging hands-on activities based on the Healthy Kids Way Curriculum, covering fitness, STEAM, academics, arts, and more.
• Assist children with homework completion.
• Create a safe and fun environment for children to thrive.
• Assist the Site Director with management tasks, including maintaining attendance and registration records.
• Communicate effectively with parents and family members through the Brightwheel App.
• Collaborate with the Site Director to address daily occurrences and issues.
