About the position

The Offshore Blaster Painter Helper is responsible for assisting in all painting and sandblasting operations according to contract specifications and quality assurance standards. This role involves operating various painting and blasting equipment, maintaining safety protocols, and ensuring high-quality finishes on structures, pipes, and valves.

Responsibilities

  • Operate painting and blasting equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Perform power tool cleaning and brush painting.
  • Clean and maintain all related painting and blasting equipment, including safety equipment.
  • Apply primer and paint coatings as required to ensure quality and minimize waste.
  • Inspect, start, and maintain equipment that delivers blast and regulates pressures.
  • Determine paint flow, viscosity, and coating quality through visual inspections or viscometers.
  • Weigh or measure chemicals, coatings, or paints before adding them to machines.
  • Dispose of hazardous waste appropriately.
  • Perform other related job duties as assigned, which may include rigging.
  • Direct spray onto the work surface to apply prime or finish coat.
  • Follow company specifications and procedures for painting and blasting operations.

Requirements

  • Two years of experience blasting/painting.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
  • Ability to pass background checks as per company policy.
  • Possession of a TWIC card.

Nice-to-haves
