About the position

The Translational Pathology and Immunohistochemistry (TP-IHC) internship at Bristol Myers Squibb offers a unique opportunity for motivated researchers to engage in meaningful work that integrates tissue-based data into clinical insights. Interns will collaborate with pathologists and scientists to identify disease biomarkers, enhancing the understanding of disease mechanisms and therapeutic responses. This role emphasizes technical competency, attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills within a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Optimize and/or validate IHC or ISH assays to detect specific protein or RNA targets in human disease
  • Support histologic digital and manual image analysis of targeted analytes
  • Plan and execute experiments that support BMS projects in Translational Pathology under supervision
  • Anticipate interactions with colleagues in Digital Pathology and Pathology teams to learn about analyte quantification
  • Maintain accurate records of experiments and procedures
  • Prepare and present results to team members across different functions

Requirements

  • BS and/or MS candidate with relevant coursework in a life sciences discipline
  • Hands-on experience in laboratory research in biological sciences or biochemistry
  • Experience with immunohistochemistry and/or histology is highly desirable
  • Organized and able to work well in a team setting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
