About the position

The General Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of the service center in Plaistow, NH, ensuring consistent profit growth and effective management of employees. This role involves implementing process improvements, managing budgets, expanding the customer base, and maintaining high standards of service and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise service center employees, including onsite and remote staff.
  • Manage an annual budget and ensure operations remain within it.
  • Generate sales revenue by expanding the customer base and upselling to current clients.
  • Survey future job sites and perform semi-skilled tasks related to installation and modifications.
  • Collect service center inventory bi-annually.
  • Complete administrative duties accurately and timely, including processing work orders and managing inventory.
  • Review and approve employee timesheets and payroll-related items.
  • Conduct employee performance reviews and evaluations as directed.
  • Schedule employees efficiently with a focus on cost control.
  • Manage employee expense reports as applicable.
  • Hire, train, and motivate new personnel to ensure high craftsmanship and safety standards.
  • Oversee care and inventory of tools, uniforms, and materials provided to employees.
  • Manage the maintenance and cleanliness of field fleet vehicles.
  • Facilitate strong client relationships through proactive communication and exceptional customer service.
  • Ensure job requirements are met for proper execution, on brand and on time.
  • Implement safety and training programs for employees, including OSHA and DOT training.
  • Protect and secure all company assets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, project management, building construction technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial construction or retail project management.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to obtain a valid DOT medical card.
  • Experience in reading construction blueprints and store elevation drawings.
  • Willingness to learn Boston Retail Solutions software programs.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects with urgent deadlines.
  • Good time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in customer service and client relationship management.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and DOT regulations.
