About the position

The Autonomy/AI ML Software Engineer is responsible for developing, integrating, and deploying autonomy and artificial intelligence algorithms for mission systems and production and maintenance operations. This role involves translating requirements into code, determining appropriate software methods, and training systems to recognize patterns for specific functions. The engineer supports the technology development life cycle from requirements generation through development, integration, scenario development and modeling, testing, and debugging. Additionally, there may be opportunities to support research and development on prototyping of autonomous systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop, integrate, and deploy autonomy and AI algorithms for mission systems.
• Translate requirements into code and determine appropriate software methods.
• Train systems to recognize patterns for specific functions.
• Support the technology development life cycle from requirements generation through testing and debugging.
• Assist in research and development for prototyping autonomous systems.

Requirements

• Ability to obtain a secret clearance.
• Experience with algorithm design.
• Experience designing and implementing classical autonomy algorithms (e.g., expert systems, A* route planning).
• Fully proficient in C++ programming.
• Masters/PhD degree in computer science, mathematics, applied statistics, various engineering disciplines, or related STEM discipline.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with simulation, Hardware in the Loop (HWIL), and field testing of embedded autonomy solutions.
• Experience with real-time embedded Linux.
• Experience with modern software development tools (git, docker, etc.).
