About the position

The A/C Lead Mechanic is responsible for overseeing mechanics and other personnel in the installation, repair, and maintenance of heating, air conditioning, and ventilation equipment. This role involves providing training and technical expertise, ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and effectively, and addressing any issues that arise in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a lead to mechanics and other personnel, providing training and technical expertise.
  • Performs installation, operational maintenance, and major repair work on commercial HVAC systems.
  • Completes preventive maintenance inspections and makes minor adjustments to equipment.
  • Receives and completes work orders for adjustments and repairs of equipment.
  • Repairs and maintains electrical machinery, pumps, and electronic/automated HVAC controls.
  • Evaluates system problems and makes recommendations to the supervisor.
  • Trains, instructs, and assists mechanics and others in their duties.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited high school/GED Program.
  • Three (3) years of work-related experience in HVAC or related fields.
  • Possession of a valid Texas Drivers License with a good driving record.
  • Ability to pass a security clearance check.
