About the position

The Program Communications Manager plays a critical role within the A+ Education Partnership's communications team, focusing on the A+ College Ready educator professional learning program. This position is responsible for creating and executing a comprehensive communications plan that enhances the program's visibility and effectiveness. The role involves collaboration with program leadership, managing relationships with external partners, and overseeing various communication tasks to promote educational equity in Alabama.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute organizational and program-specific communications plans.
  • Promote and market program activities in collaboration with program leadership and staff.
  • Manage relationships with communications consultants and coordinate tasks.
  • Produce digital content from program training events.
  • Write and copy-edit blog posts, scripts, and press releases.
  • Perform minor website management with support from a web developer.
  • Assist in creating and ordering branded promotional items.
  • Manage relationships with external partners such as the Alabama State Department of Education.
  • Facilitate internal discussions on communication strategies and activities.
  • Engage in team meetings and support cross-team collaboration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, education, or a relevant field.
  • Experience in executing comprehensive communications strategies.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to balance multiple projects effectively.
  • Experience with social media management and website editing.
  • Proficiency in design software like Canva.
  • Experience with WordPress is preferred but not required.
