About the position

The Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable (AP/AR) Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining the company's financial transactions related to accounts payable and accounts receivable. This role involves processing invoices, ensuring timely payments, managing customer accounts, and maintaining accurate financial records to support the company's financial health and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Process and verify invoices for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company policies.
  • Prepare and execute payments to vendors, ensuring timely and accurate disbursements.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
  • Maintain organized and accurate records of all accounts payable transactions.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve payment or invoice-related issues.
  • Process customer invoices and ensure they are accurate and sent in a timely manner.
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on overdue invoices.
  • Reconcile customer accounts and manage collections to ensure timely payments.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all accounts receivable transactions.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to resolve payment disputes or inquiries.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Prepare and review financial reports related to AP/AR functions.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and accounting standards.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in AP/AR operations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Finance Manager/Controller.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience (typically 2+ years) in accounts payable, accounts receivable, or a similar financial role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
