About the position

HumanHire has partnered with a luxury apparel company in Melville, NY, to find a Temporary A/R Collections Specialist. This role is essential for supporting many well-known, high-end brands across the country. The position is a temporary assignment lasting 3-6 months, with the potential for it to become permanent based on performance and business needs. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of B2B Accounts Receivable experience and will be responsible for managing the collection of past due payments, negotiating payment plans, and improving collection performance. The A/R Collections Specialist will follow up on delinquent accounts, process credit card transactions, manage cash postings, and run credit checks on new businesses to assess their creditworthiness. Additionally, the role involves organizing a database of customers and their payment statuses, as well as responding to customer inquiries regarding billing issues. This position requires a high level of discretion and the ability to work independently while maintaining effective communication with clients and team members. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM, and the pay rate is between $28 and $30 per hour, with weekly pay. Responsibilities

  • Follow up on delinquent accounts to receive past due payments and negotiate payment plans as necessary.
  • Support and improve collection performance.
  • Process credit cards and apply chargebacks as necessary.
  • Manage cash posting and cash applications.
  • Run credit checks on new businesses to determine creditworthiness.
  • Organize database of customers and payment status.
  • Respond to customer calls & emails to resolve billing issues.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of B2B Accounts Receivable experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel, including formula & VLOOKUP knowledge preferred.
  • Proficiency in SAP is a plus!
  • Ability to maintain a high level of discretion.
