About the position

The Accounts Receivable Supervisor is responsible for overseeing a team that manages billing, cash processing, and collections. This role focuses on meeting performance targets, adapting procedures, and implementing performance management metrics to ensure efficient operations. The supervisor will also engage in training and skill development for team members, while addressing complex accounts receivable issues and collaborating with internal stakeholders for resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises a team of employees to ensure all billing, cash application, and collections are completed in a timely manner.
  • Conducts onboarding and training for new employees and engages in skill development and performance management.
  • Acts as the point of escalation for complex accounts receivable issues and partners with internal stakeholders for resolution.
  • Regularly reviews accounts receivable aging statements and initiates action on overdue balances, ensuring timely invoicing and cash applications by month-end.
  • Engages cross-functional leadership in monthly meetings to discuss ongoing issues and assign action items.
  • Responds to customer requests in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner, exercising judgment in resolving service billing or pricing problems.
  • Supervises and coordinates the preparation of monthly invoices, billing adjustments, and the handling of billing questions and discrepancies.
  • Monitors daily staff performance through system-generated reports and manual logs.
  • Encourages staff to develop more efficient and effective processes.
  • Supports the field in resolving cash-related inquiries.
  • Monitors accounting services systems to identify discrepancies and ensure timely resolution of tickets.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible experience in an Accounts Receivable or Billing role.
  • Experience supervising clerical staff.
