About the position

The Audio Visual (AV) Technician at Copper River Enterprise Services will support the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's Conference Room buildouts by providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for unclassified enterprise audiovisual systems. The role involves customer support for enterprise users, ensuring the setup, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and reporting of AV systems are effectively managed. The technician must thrive in a fast-paced environment, prioritize requests, and communicate effectively with all levels within the NRC organization.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, test, and calibrate AV equipment and devices to produce a fully functional AV system.
  • Develop reports from After Action Reviews, customer interactions, and ad hoc incident reporting.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance checks and report findings.
  • Support end users during presentations as needed.
  • Manage work incidents from the work ticket queue using an established ticketing system.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 1-2 years of experience providing A/V services, or 4 years of experience in A/V services.
  • Minimum of one video conferencing platform certification (e.g., Polycom, Cisco).
  • Minimum of one control system platform certification (e.g., AMX, Crestron, Extron).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to correct malfunctions by testing, analyzing, and restoring A/V systems.
  • Knowledge of audiovisual software commonly used in a professional environment.
  • Ability to train end users in web, audio, and video teleconferencing.
  • Familiarity with basic Internet Protocol (IP) network administration.
  • Knowledge of meeting room facilities design.
  • Ability to provide consultation and technical advice in meeting management.
  • Knowledge of bridge and conference service data management.
  • Must pass an NRC background check for IT level 1 Badging.
