About the position

The Abdominal Imaging Fellowship at Emory University School of Medicine is a full-time, one-year program designed for individuals who have completed or are scheduled to complete a diagnostic radiology residency. The fellowship focuses on supervised and independent patient evaluation and management, complex imaging interpretation, and formal educational activities. Fellows will engage in compassionate patient care, develop a deep understanding of biomedical sciences, and participate in educational and institutional activities while gaining experience in various imaging modalities.

Responsibilities

• Interpretation of CT, MRI, ultrasound, fluoroscopic, and plain film examinations of the abdomen and pelvis.
• Participate in patient care that is compassionate, appropriate, safe, and effective.
• Develop an understanding of biomedical, clinical, and cognate sciences and apply this knowledge to patient care.
• Investigate and evaluate patient care practices and assimilate scientific evidence for improvement.
• Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills with patients and professional associates.
• Participate in educational activities of the training program and supervise other residents and students.
• Participate in institutional committees and councils as appointed or invited.
• Perform duties in accordance with established practices, procedures, and policies.

Requirements

• Must have completed or be scheduled to complete a US or Canadian accredited diagnostic radiology residency prior to July 1 of the fellowship year.
• Must hold an MD degree or equivalent and meet requirements for medical licensure in the state of Georgia.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with CT Colonography, MR PET, and other specialized abdominal imaging procedures.
