About the position
The HVAC Technician is responsible for ensuring the operational functionality of HVAC equipment within manufacturing and office spaces. This role involves performing mechanical and electrical duties, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. The technician will work independently and may also train and direct junior staff while collaborating with other personnel to resolve issues related to HVAC systems.
Responsibilities
- Independently plan work assignments and perform duties with minimal supervision.
- Train and direct plant trades Helpers, Junior Trades Workers, and Trades Workers assigned to assist.
- Collaborate with functional personnel to resolve problems and recommend solutions based on trades knowledge.
- Maintain, repair, overhaul, modify, and perform operational tests on manufacturing equipment and vacuum systems.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical difficulties and perform maintenance, adjustment, and replacement of control units.
- Maintain and repair electronic controls, microprocessors, and similar electronic instruments.
- Proactively monitor HVAC equipment using the building automation system and address identified issues.
Requirements
- Two years of work experience in HVAC or related trade.
- Completion of an accredited Trades School with certification or equivalent practical experience.
- EPA 608 Certification.
Nice-to-haves
- Completion of an accredited trades training course or equivalent knowledge and skill acquired by means of practical experience.
- Ability to serve as a role model for safe work practices and behaviors.
