About the position

The Academic Account Manager at ZEISS is responsible for providing high-end technical sales solutions in the life sciences sector, focusing on microscopy and imaging applications. This role involves working consultatively with university partners and ZEISS specialists to ensure customer success through the effective demonstration and application of ZEISS products. The position requires a strong customer focus, technical expertise, and the ability to manage sales processes effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-end technical sales solutions for scientific research products.
• Work consultatively with university partners and ZEISS specialists to address imaging needs.
• Demonstrate ZEISS microscopy systems and software solutions to customers.
• Utilize the ZEISS Sales Process to qualify opportunities and drive sales to completion.
• Maintain an up-to-date Salesforce CRM system to accurately forecast sales opportunities.
• Engage in face-to-face interactions with customers for sales, support, and relationship development.
• Provide feedback on customer applications and market conditions to internal stakeholders.

Requirements

• BS in Life Sciences or an Analytical Field of study; MS or PhD preferred.
• Experience in Life Sciences/Bioengineering/Analytical fields with microscopy applications.
• Prior experience in technical sales or managing a field coverage area.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, both in-person and virtual.
• Proficiency in computing hardware and software, including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Positive attitude and willingness to acquire product knowledge independently.

Nice-to-haves

• Working knowledge of high-end microscopy and imaging techniques.
• Understanding of Laboratory Safety requirements for BSL-1, BSL-2, and BSL-3 environments.
• Experience in biological applications and workflow solutions, including image analysis.
