The Academic Affairs Budget Analyst at California State University, Monterey Bay (CSUMB) plays a crucial role in the financial and operational management of the Division of Academic Affairs. In addition to document management, the Academic Affairs Budget Analyst prepares complex financial reports and reconciliations, such as fund balance reports and payroll reconciliations. The analyst conducts data analysis using multiple campus databases to support strategic decision-making, ensuring that data is accurate and presented in a clear, structured manner. This includes developing pivot tables and customized reports, as well as creating data visualizations to effectively communicate insights to stakeholders. The position also involves monitoring expenses for the Office of the Provost and other non-academic departments, ensuring that expenditures remain within budget limits. The analyst reviews and audits the Academic Affairs Budget Tracker, providing support to academic college analysts as needed. Furthermore, the role includes updating the Academic Affairs Policy and Procedure Manual and assisting with the completion of business process guides. The analyst is expected to respond to inquiries in a timely manner and maintain organized communication channels within the office.
