About the position
The Academic Associate (English) position at Connecticut State Community College is a full-time, tenure-track role responsible for supporting faculty and students in academic labs. Responsibilities
- Schedule, set up, maintain, and operate assigned academic labs.
- Provide tutorial assistance to students in the use of lab equipment and in carrying out lab assignments.
- Attend and participate in convocation and commencement ceremonies.
- Serve on assigned committees and task forces.
- Attend and participate in committee, staff, informational, and professional meetings.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in English or a closely allied field.
- One or more years of related experience in an academic setting.
- Advanced knowledge of principles and concepts of the assigned academic discipline.
- Understanding of lab equipment operation, setup, and safety procedures.
- Skill in tutoring and basic instruction in the assigned academic discipline.
- Strong information technology literacy skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Nice-to-haves
- Two or more years of experience working in a developmental English environment.
- Two or more years of experience in an online learning environment.
- Bilingual proficiency.
