About the position
The Academic Associate position at Connecticut State Community College is a full-time, tenure track role responsible for supporting faculty and students in academic labs. This includes scheduling, setting up, and maintaining lab equipment, as well as assisting with laboratory instruction. Responsibilities
- Schedule, set up, and maintain academic labs.
- Assist faculty with laboratory instruction and lab assignments.
- Participate in convocation and commencement ceremonies.
- Serve on assigned committees and task forces.
- Attend professional meetings and events, which may occur in the evening or on weekends.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or a closely allied field.
- One or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Advanced knowledge of biology or chemistry principles and concepts.
- Strong information technology literacy skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
- Ability to work effectively with diverse faculty, staff, and students.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
