About the position
The University of Pennsylvania's Division of Hospital Medicine is seeking candidates for several Associate or Full Professor positions in the non-tenure academic clinician track, focusing on General Internal Medicine, particularly in Hospital Medicine. The role involves significant teaching and clinical responsibilities, including mentoring medical students and residents, and engaging in advanced practice provider education. Candidates are expected to demonstrate excellence in teaching and clinical practice, with a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Responsibilities
- Teach in the general medicine teaching services at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and/or Penn Presbyterian Medical Center.
- Mentor medical students and residents.
- Engage in lectures and small group teaching in the medical school.
- Work on non-resident, acute care hospital services, and specialized populations such as oncology or surgical co-management.
- Fulfill the academic clinician track requirement of 100 credits per year of active and high-quality teaching responsibilities.
Requirements
- M.D. or equivalent degree required.
- Board certified or board eligible in General Internal Medicine.
- Prior experience as faculty at other academic institutions in general medical practice, ideally in hospital medicine, at the Associate or Full Professor rank is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching with institutional awards or significant leadership roles.
