About the position

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine is seeking a full-time non-tenure academic Cytopathologist. This position is available at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor and is based at Emory University Hospital/Emory University Hospital Midtown. The successful candidate will join a collaborative faculty group that evaluates a diverse range of cytologic and surgical specimens, contributing to clinical and translational scholarship and teaching within a leading academic medical center.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate a wide variety of cytologic and surgical specimens.
  • Assist the division with regulatory aspects of cytopathology.
  • Engage in clinical responsibilities that include both surgical pathology and cytopathology.
  • Participate in teaching and training of residents and fellows.

Requirements

  • MD, MD/PhD, or DO degree.
  • Board eligible or certified in Anatomic Pathology and Cytopathology.
  • Fellowship training in cytopathology is required.
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in Georgia.

Nice-to-haves

  • Additional fellowship training in a surgical pathology subspecialty is preferred.
  • Training in ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration is a plus.
