About the position

The University of Illinois Counseling Center is seeking hourly clinical counselors to provide clinical assessment, counseling, and triage services for individual clients. The role involves working within a diverse team to deliver culturally competent services to a wide range of clients with various psychological and developmental concerns. The position requires availability for at least one full-day shift per week and may include responsibilities such as group counseling and clinical supervision of practicum students.

Responsibilities

  • Provide time-limited counseling services for individuals and couples
  • Conduct initial intakes and assessments
  • Manage clinical crises and triage services
  • Participate in psychological emergency and trauma response
  • Provide group counseling services through a general therapy group or a group that addresses specific clinical issues or needs of particular student populations
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology or Masters in Social Work or Counseling required
  • Must possess appropriate professional licensure in Illinois: LCP, LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT
