About The Position

The Academic Integrity & Student Conduct Specialist at the University of California, Irvine plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of the academic environment and ensuring adherence to student conduct policies. This position is situated within the Office of Academic Integrity & Student Conduct (OAISC), which is responsible for handling all matters related to academic integrity and student conduct across the campus. The OAISC is the sole office dedicated to these issues, enforcing the Policies Applying to Campus Activities, Organizations, and Students as established by the Regents of the University of California. The specialist will independently investigate, adjudicate, and process complex cases that may include academic misconduct, student conduct violations, and issues related to students in distress, including cases of sexual violence and sexual harassment. In this role, the specialist will utilize advanced expertise to assess situations, determine appropriate actions, and provide information regarding complex policies and procedures. The position requires a high degree of personal and professional integrity, as the decisions made can significantly impact students' lives and may lead to high-profile lawsuits, audits, and investigations. The specialist will work under general direction, applying their knowledge of federal and state laws, as well as university policies, to ensure fair and respectful conflict resolution. The role also involves preparing reports, updating training materials, and managing multiple projects in a high-stress environment, all while maintaining strong relationships across campus.
