About the position

The Academic Project Coordinator at National Louis University plays a pivotal role in managing academic support needs for the Office of the Dean within the National College of Education. This position is responsible for overseeing various project management tasks, ensuring that all projects align with the strategic priorities of the college. The coordinator will work collaboratively with other departments to serve as a central source of information, facilitating effective communication and outreach efforts. This role also involves planning events and creating a range of digital materials aimed at engaging students, faculty, alumni, and external stakeholders. In this capacity, the Academic Project Coordinator will manage high-priority, time-sensitive projects for the Dean and the leadership team. This includes creating and executing project work plans, revising them as necessary to adapt to changing needs and requirements. The coordinator will provide strategic planning support to the Office of the Dean and the college leadership team, assisting with the development and implementation of curriculum and assessments, as well as supporting accreditation and state approval processes. Additionally, the coordinator will play a key role in the annual program assessment process and serve as a liaison between the college and various stakeholders, including university administration, faculty, students, staff, alumni, and partners. The position also entails conducting directed research to identify trends in PK-12 schools and other colleges of education, potentially leading to feasibility studies for new academic offerings. The Academic Project Coordinator will lead all events organized by the college, such as webinars, conferences, and workshops, while also performing other duties as assigned by the Dean. This role is essential in fostering a collaborative environment that promotes teamwork and effective communication across the college.

Responsibilities

  • Manage high priority time sensitive projects for Dean and leadership team, creating and executing project work plans and revising as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Provide strategic planning support to the Office of the Dean and college leadership team.
  • Support projects related to the development and implementation of curriculum and assessments.
  • Provide support for accreditation and state approval processes.
  • Provide support for annual program assessment process.
  • Serve as a college liaison to university administration, faculty, students, staff, alumni, and partners.
  • Support NCE's external advisory boards and other duties as requested by the Dean.
  • Perform directed research to identify trends among PK-12 schools and other Colleges of education.
  • Possibly conduct feasibility studies for new academic offerings.
  • Serve as the team lead on all events (i.e., webinars, conferences, workshops).
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in educational context.
  • Progressively responsible project management experience in an educational context, in PK-12 or higher education focused organizations.
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Strong skills with Microsoft Office applications (particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Proven experience working in collaborative teams and problem solving.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication (writing, speaking, listening) skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality while working on sensitive matters.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with event planning and execution.
  • Familiarity with accreditation processes in higher education.
  • Knowledge of current trends in education and curriculum development.
