About the position

The Academic Project Manager for Accounting at the University of Texas at Dallas will play a pivotal role in coordinating the implementation of the Accounting Area Program. This position involves managing various aspects of the program, including publicity, data collection, and accountability to ensure that program objectives are met. The Academic Project Manager will also oversee more complex academic advising activities, coordinate retention and student outreach efforts, and manage other projects related to academic initiatives within the accounting area. This role is essential for fostering student engagement and success, as well as enhancing the overall academic experience for students in the program. In addition to program management, the Academic Project Manager will be responsible for monitoring the academic progress of students in the Professional Program in Accounting (PPA). This includes coordinating and facilitating PPA events, implementing early identification initiatives for prospective PPA students, and serving as an advisor for the Accounting Club. The role also encompasses CPA advising, which involves maintaining and updating CPA testing and licensing requirements and effectively communicating these requirements to students. Furthermore, the Academic Project Manager will manage Excel certifications through ACCT 3312, ensuring that students are well-prepared for their professional journeys. The position requires a proactive approach to academic advising and a commitment to supporting students in their educational pursuits. The Academic Project Manager will work closely with faculty and staff to create a supportive environment that encourages student success and retention. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
