About the position

The Academic Project Manager will play a pivotal role in coordinating the implementation of the Accounting Area Program at The University of Texas at Dallas. This position involves overseeing various aspects of the program, including publicity, data collection, and the preparation of reports to ensure accountability in meeting program objectives. The Academic Project Manager will also manage more complex academic advising activities, which are essential for the success of the program. This role requires a proactive approach to coordinate retention and student outreach efforts, as well as other projects related to academic initiatives within the accounting area. The successful candidate will work closely with faculty, staff, and students to foster an environment that supports academic success and enhances the overall educational experience. In addition to program coordination, the Academic Project Manager will be responsible for developing strategies to improve student engagement and retention. This includes analyzing data related to student performance and satisfaction, and using this information to inform program improvements. The role also involves collaborating with various departments and stakeholders to promote the program and its offerings, ensuring that all activities align with the university's mission and goals. The Academic Project Manager will serve as a key liaison between students and faculty, providing guidance and support to help students navigate their academic journeys effectively.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with five (5) years of experience working with college students in an academic capacity.
  • Directly related academic advising and teaching experience in a college or university setting.

Nice-to-haves

  • Degree in accounting and/or CPA License preferred.
