About the position

The University of Nebraska Medical Center is seeking a full-time Radiation Oncologist to join the Department of Radiation Oncology at the June E. Nylen Cancer Center in Sioux City, IA. This position offers a unique opportunity to provide patient care in a state-of-the-art facility that is ACRO accredited, emphasizing a team-based approach to cancer treatment and research. The role is 100% clinical, allowing the oncologist to focus on delivering high-quality care using the latest technology and collaborating with a team of experienced professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient care services in radiation oncology.
  • Utilize advanced treatment technologies including Varian TrueBeam linear accelerators and PET CT Simulator.
  • Collaborate with a team of specialists for comprehensive care planning.
  • Participate in tumor boards and access clinical trials.
  • Support and mentor residents in accredited radiation oncology and medical physics programs.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree (or equivalent) with completion or near completion of an ACGME accredited residency in Radiation Oncology.
  • Board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Radiology (ABR).
  • Experience in 3D-CRT, IMRT, SABR, SRS, and HDR.
