The University at Buffalo's Department of Pediatrics is seeking candidates for the position of Academic Scholar - Clinical or Research Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in the Division of Neonatology. This role is available in both tenure and non-tenure tracks and is designed for individuals who are committed to providing outstanding clinical care, engaging in innovative teaching, and contributing to research in the field of pediatrics. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality clinical services in the 64-bed Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at John R. Oishei Children's Hospital, as well as in the 10-bed Level II NICU at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital. This position also involves productivity in program development and providing both outpatient and inpatient consultative services. In addition to clinical responsibilities, the role includes significant teaching duties. The candidate will be expected to educate medical students, residents, and fellows through clinical education, formal lectures, and curriculum development. There is an emphasis on mentoring junior faculty and developing innovative teaching materials. Candidates must demonstrate a track record of excellence in clinical practice, including innovative accomplishments in care delivery, clinical productivity, and quality improvement initiatives. An identifiable area of special expertise is also required, showcasing the candidate's commitment to advancing the field of neonatology. UBMD Pediatrics is part of the UBMD Physicians' Group, the largest medical group in the area, and is supported by 14 pediatric subspecialties. The physicians in this group also serve as the academic teaching faculty within the Department of Pediatrics at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo.
