Requirements

  • Juris doctor degree from an ABA accredited institution
  • Member in good standing with a state bar
  • Outstanding law school academic record
  • Genuine desire to work closely with students
  • Three years of experience as a practicing attorney or one year of experience in student support at a law school
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent computer and technology skills, including experience with data management, Microsoft Excel, and report development
  • Ability to effectively teach in workshop and individual settings
  • Flexibility to work evening hours and weekends
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to find creative solutions for complex problems while maintaining institutional standards and policies
  • Ability to work independently and make effective decisions quickly
  • Ability to work with a highly diverse staff, faculty, and student body

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience working in academic or bar support positions with law students
  • Teaching and/or tutoring experience in higher education, preferably law
  • Experience working with students or others in crisis with a calm and respectful demeanor
